FROM BEYOND!

Back from the dead! Risen from the ashes!

I've been spending a lot of time writing game reviews for Just Press Play, so go there if you feel my thoughts inspire you to read more.

In other news: The podcast exists. Last week marked the first successful recording and publishing of the Podcast For the Future. I advise you check it out, as it rules the roost. From now on, most (if not all) of my anime reviewing and discussion will take place there, but accompanying notes and info will appear here.

Mmmmm.... Fighting.

The more time passes, the more delectable the PS3 looks. Moments ago I found out that T<span style="font-style: italic;">ekken: Dark Resurrection, a PS3 HD rehash of Tekken 5, is going to get online play capability! I've been a huge Tekken fan since the first time I played a Playstation. Sure, button mashing can make competition a bit ridiculous, but the control scheme rules. Plus, anyone properly skilled at the game can easily topple a button mashing dolt.

I have high hopes for Tekken's online update. In this era of pro-Virtua Fighter and/or Soul Calibur rhetoric partnered with Tekken hate, it pleases me to see another attempt at online fighter gameplay. Street Fighter and Dead or Alive have both attempted it in the past, but neither achieved much. Furthermore, Dead or Alive is garbage regardless of who you're playing.

This year will see the releases of with multi-platform Virtua Fighter 5, online Tekken 5 and Street Fighter 2: HD. With a lot of recent talk of the "death of the fighting genre," I can't help but disagree, to the max.

Naruto: Shippuuden isn't even on this week. I declare this horse shit. Looks like none of the weekly anime shows I had previously enjoyed are worth the bandwidth anymore.
